My Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

Hi guys! It has been a while since I posted, I seem to be saying this a the beginning of all of my posts nowadays but its true and I'm sorry!

Anyway, unless you have been living under a rock for your whole life you will know that a few days ago it was Christmas! Christmas is by far my favourite holiday of the year and I want to tell you what I got for Christmas and also the kind of things I do on Christmas Eve and Christmas day. I am splitting this into two blog posts, one with a list of what I got and this one telling you about what I got up to!

So let's get started!

Firstly I will tell you what I got up to on Christmas Eve.
My mum had to go to work in the morning so in order to keep us busy while she was gone one of my old babysitters Charlotte came round and we baked Christmas cookies!! I would love to show you photos of all of them but sadly, I have already eaten most of them. We made gingerbread men, snowflakes, Santa's and stained-glass window cookies!! Once my mum got home we had lunch then some of our friends came round.
At 4pm we all went to Holy Trinity Church for the Christmas service, where we sang carols and created the nativity scene. I helped my sister put a sheep into the stable.
Then we went back home and had a special Christmas Eve dinner with duck spring rolls, samosas and loads of Indian treats. I then went to sleep and waited for "Santa Claus" to deliver my presents.

It is family tradition at my house to open all of our stocking presents in my parents bedroom, so I go to get my sister and brother then we all take our stockings from the ends of our beds and go to my parents room. After all our stocking presents have been opened my mum and dad make us egg and toast and bacon for breakfast, which is always really tasty! My mum covers the living room doorway in wrapping paper so when we come downstairs we cant see all our presents. Once we have had breakfast we break through the paper and find three piles of presents. We open these first then hand out the presents from each other that are under the tree. We don't usually visit any of our grandparents on Christmas day so we just spend the rest of the day playing with our presents!

Hope you enjoyed hearing about the Davies Family Christmas and I hope you had a very merry Christmas!

Catching Fire Tag!

Hi guys, so I heard of this tag because I watched Joey Graceffa (I think that's how you spell it?!) do it on YouTube. On Wednesday I went to watch the movie with a bunch of my friends and it was AMAZING!! I would highly recommend going to see it if you are a hunger games fan.
So here is my Catching Fire Tag. Hope you enjoy!

BEWARE, SPOILER ALERTS IN THIS POST!!!

How fast did you read Catching Fire? I actually read it quite slowly because one of my friends was getting me Mockingjay for my birthday, which was a long way away, so I didn't want to read it too fast then have to wait to read the next one.

What district would you be from? Well of course I would love to live in the Capitol, but probably District 1 because they get to make luxury items for the Capitol and that sounds cool. Also, people volunteer for the Hunger Games so I wouldn't have to worry about being reaped.

Which scene were you most excited about being brought to life in the movie? I was really excited to see the interviews with Caesar because I wanted to see Katniss' Mockingjay dress!! Which was really cool!!

Which of your friends would you want to go in the arena with? I would want to go into the arena with Evie because I know she would be clever and wouldn't kill me! But I wouldn't want her to die, so I don't know!!

Which of the clock ticks would freak you out the most? This is a really hard one because I would want to say all of the but I would probably go with the monkeys because they are really freaky!!

Which was the saddest death? I was expecting Mags to be the saddest but they didn't really show it so I would have to go with Cinna's death because I really liked him and he died whole Katniss watched :(

Which weapon would you want, bow or trident? Probably bow because I couldn't just go up to someone and stab them with a trident!! However either way I would have to kill someone which I wouldn't want to do at all!!

What would be your personal item that you would bring with you? I would love to have a necklace or bracelet with pictures of my family or best friends to remind me to keep fighting!

Which are you, team Peeta or team Gale? Easy, Peeta all the way :)

Okay so that is it! Feel free to take the questions and do your own Catching Fire tag and I will repost again soon.

Update!!

Hi guys, it has been a long long long time since I have done a blog post or a YouTube video because it was a lot of hassle to do the videos and this blog kind of faded out of my memory.
But anyway I though it was about time that I updated this blog with just a bit of information on what I have been doing lately so I hope this makes up for the time I haven't been writing.

To start off with I just want to tell you a bit about my schedule so that you can see just how busy I am and it is my excuse for why I haven't updated recently.

Monday- Work
Tuesday- Homework
Wednesday- Work
Thursday-Drama
Friday- Acro
Saturday- Work then dance and drama
Sunday- Visit grandparents pr have friends round

So yeah, I have gotten quite busy with extra curricular stuff and couldn't find the time to do some of the stuff I wanted to.
And just to make life even more stressful I have dance exams and dance shows and school pantomime coming up so just bare with me  for the next few months!!
I now attend my drama and dance school three times a week and the amount of time I spend there adds up to about 6 hours a week, which isn't loads but I have to stretch and practise a lot at home as well so, that included, my dance takes up about 13 hours a week, which is quite a bit.

I basically just wanted to say sorry for not updating and that I hope to be more reliable in the fitire

Talk again soon,

Top Ten Musicals!!

Hello again everyone, today is the second of my top ten's and it is my top ten favourite musicals!!
I hope you enjoy!

10. Oliver

Lots of people would probably rank this higher but it is number 10 for me. I thought it was really good and all the songs were great, however I do like the books and so it was quite predictable. Still, I really enjoyed watching it.

9. The Lion King

Again, I really enjoyed this show and I watched it when I was very young and I still remember it. I love Disney so I kneww the story and this made it quite predictable but I thought the costumes were amazing!

8. Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat

When I was 11 I was in this musical and it was great fun. It isn't quite a west end musical however I think it is one that everyone should have seen as it is very entertaining.

7. Mama Mia!

This is a real feel good musical, including all the famous songs from ABBA. I loved the movie and the musical was not a dissapointment. Really enjoyable!

6. The Wizard of Oz

I went to see this with my family and the scenary was amazing. I also really liked the person playing Dorothy and recognised her as Danielle, the winner of the series Over the Rainbow in search for the new Dorothy. I thought that the dog, Toto, was really good and did everything he was supposed to. A great family show!

5. Billy Elliot

I thought this show was a lot better than I thought it wold be. The boy playing Billy Elliot was great and danced amazingly. I think it deserves to be here!

4. Cats

This musical is my mum's all time favourite so I have seen it numerous times. I like the way the cast walk around the audience as it makes you feel a lot more invlolved. Great songs and something new and different to watch.

3. Wicked

I love this musical as it is quite new and the whole storyline is really unique. It takes the story of the wicked witch of the west from the wizard of oz and totally turns it on it's head. A funky, new musical that you are sure to enjoy.

2. The Phantom of the Opera

Andrew Llyod Webber's finest, the Phantom of the Opera is a truly amazing musical and it was a hard decision whether to put it in first or second place on this countdown. I can't fault it, the songs and staging was great and it created an atmosphere where everyone was excited to see what would happen next!

And now... My favourite musical of all time is......

1. Les Miserables

This is, in my opinion, the best musical ever! I love it so much and I also really love the movie. It is a wonderful musical that everyone should watch. It leaves you wanting more and the songs are true works of art!

So there you have it, my top ten favourite musicals. I hope you liked it and if you have any other favourite musicals then just leave them in the comments below!

Thanks,

Sophie Xxx
