My Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

Hi guys! It has been a while since I posted, I seem to be saying this a the beginning of all of my posts nowadays but its true and I'm sorry!

Anyway, unless you have been living under a rock for your whole life you will know that a few days ago it was Christmas! Christmas is by far my favourite holiday of the year and I want to tell you what I got for Christmas and also the kind of things I do on Christmas Eve and Christmas day. I am splitting this into two blog posts, one with a list of what I got and this one telling you about what I got up to!

So let's get started!

Firstly I will tell you what I got up to on Christmas Eve.
My mum had to go to work in the morning so in order to keep us busy while she was gone one of my old babysitters Charlotte came round and we baked Christmas cookies!! I would love to show you photos of all of them but sadly, I have already eaten most of them. We made gingerbread men, snowflakes, Santa's and stained-glass window cookies!! Once my mum got home we had lunch then some of our friends came round.
At 4pm we all went to Holy Trinity Church for the Christmas service, where we sang carols and created the nativity scene. I helped my sister put a sheep into the stable.
Then we went back home and had a special Christmas Eve dinner with duck spring rolls, samosas and loads of Indian treats. I then went to sleep and waited for "Santa Claus" to deliver my presents.

It is family tradition at my house to open all of our stocking presents in my parents bedroom, so I go to get my sister and brother then we all take our stockings from the ends of our beds and go to my parents room. After all our stocking presents have been opened my mum and dad make us egg and toast and bacon for breakfast, which is always really tasty! My mum covers the living room doorway in wrapping paper so when we come downstairs we cant see all our presents. Once we have had breakfast we break through the paper and find three piles of presents. We open these first then hand out the presents from each other that are under the tree. We don't usually visit any of our grandparents on Christmas day so we just spend the rest of the day playing with our presents!

Hope you enjoyed hearing about the Davies Family Christmas and I hope you had a very merry Christmas!

Catching Fire Tag!

Hi guys, so I heard of this tag because I watched Joey Graceffa (I think that's how you spell it?!) do it on YouTube. On Wednesday I went to watch the movie with a bunch of my friends and it was AMAZING!! I would highly recommend going to see it if you are a hunger games fan.
So here is my Catching Fire Tag. Hope you enjoy!

BEWARE, SPOILER ALERTS IN THIS POST!!!

How fast did you read Catching Fire? I actually read it quite slowly because one of my friends was getting me Mockingjay for my birthday, which was a long way away, so I didn't want to read it too fast then have to wait to read the next one.

What district would you be from? Well of course I would love to live in the Capitol, but probably District 1 because they get to make luxury items for the Capitol and that sounds cool. Also, people volunteer for the Hunger Games so I wouldn't have to worry about being reaped.

Which scene were you most excited about being brought to life in the movie? I was really excited to see the interviews with Caesar because I wanted to see Katniss' Mockingjay dress!! Which was really cool!!

Which of your friends would you want to go in the arena with? I would want to go into the arena with Evie because I know she would be clever and wouldn't kill me! But I wouldn't want her to die, so I don't know!!

Which of the clock ticks would freak you out the most? This is a really hard one because I would want to say all of the but I would probably go with the monkeys because they are really freaky!!

Which was the saddest death? I was expecting Mags to be the saddest but they didn't really show it so I would have to go with Cinna's death because I really liked him and he died whole Katniss watched :(

Which weapon would you want, bow or trident? Probably bow because I couldn't just go up to someone and stab them with a trident!! However either way I would have to kill someone which I wouldn't want to do at all!!

What would be your personal item that you would bring with you? I would love to have a necklace or bracelet with pictures of my family or best friends to remind me to keep fighting!

Which are you, team Peeta or team Gale? Easy, Peeta all the way :)

Okay so that is it! Feel free to take the questions and do your own Catching Fire tag and I will repost again soon.

Update!!

Hi guys, it has been a long long long time since I have done a blog post or a YouTube video because it was a lot of hassle to do the videos and this blog kind of faded out of my memory.
But anyway I though it was about time that I updated this blog with just a bit of information on what I have been doing lately so I hope this makes up for the time I haven't been writing.

To start off with I just want to tell you a bit about my schedule so that you can see just how busy I am and it is my excuse for why I haven't updated recently.

Monday- Work
Tuesday- Homework
Wednesday- Work
Thursday-Drama
Friday- Acro
Saturday- Work then dance and drama
Sunday- Visit grandparents pr have friends round

So yeah, I have gotten quite busy with extra curricular stuff and couldn't find the time to do some of the stuff I wanted to.
And just to make life even more stressful I have dance exams and dance shows and school pantomime coming up so just bare with me  for the next few months!!
I now attend my drama and dance school three times a week and the amount of time I spend there adds up to about 6 hours a week, which isn't loads but I have to stretch and practise a lot at home as well so, that included, my dance takes up about 13 hours a week, which is quite a bit.

I basically just wanted to say sorry for not updating and that I hope to be more reliable in the fitire

Talk again soon,

Top Ten Musicals!!

Hello again everyone, today is the second of my top ten's and it is my top ten favourite musicals!!
I hope you enjoy!

10. Oliver

Lots of people would probably rank this higher but it is number 10 for me. I thought it was really good and all the songs were great, however I do like the books and so it was quite predictable. Still, I really enjoyed watching it.

9. The Lion King

Again, I really enjoyed this show and I watched it when I was very young and I still remember it. I love Disney so I kneww the story and this made it quite predictable but I thought the costumes were amazing!

8. Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat

When I was 11 I was in this musical and it was great fun. It isn't quite a west end musical however I think it is one that everyone should have seen as it is very entertaining.

7. Mama Mia!

This is a real feel good musical, including all the famous songs from ABBA. I loved the movie and the musical was not a dissapointment. Really enjoyable!

6. The Wizard of Oz

I went to see this with my family and the scenary was amazing. I also really liked the person playing Dorothy and recognised her as Danielle, the winner of the series Over the Rainbow in search for the new Dorothy. I thought that the dog, Toto, was really good and did everything he was supposed to. A great family show!

5. Billy Elliot

I thought this show was a lot better than I thought it wold be. The boy playing Billy Elliot was great and danced amazingly. I think it deserves to be here!

4. Cats

This musical is my mum's all time favourite so I have seen it numerous times. I like the way the cast walk around the audience as it makes you feel a lot more invlolved. Great songs and something new and different to watch.

3. Wicked

I love this musical as it is quite new and the whole storyline is really unique. It takes the story of the wicked witch of the west from the wizard of oz and totally turns it on it's head. A funky, new musical that you are sure to enjoy.

2. The Phantom of the Opera

Andrew Llyod Webber's finest, the Phantom of the Opera is a truly amazing musical and it was a hard decision whether to put it in first or second place on this countdown. I can't fault it, the songs and staging was great and it created an atmosphere where everyone was excited to see what would happen next!

And now... My favourite musical of all time is......

1. Les Miserables

This is, in my opinion, the best musical ever! I love it so much and I also really love the movie. It is a wonderful musical that everyone should watch. It leaves you wanting more and the songs are true works of art!

So there you have it, my top ten favourite musicals. I hope you liked it and if you have any other favourite musicals then just leave them in the comments below!

Thanks,

Top Ten Songs!!

Hi guys!

Today's post is the start of a set of top ten posts that I am doing. day of this week I will make a post on some sort of top ten.
Today's top ten is.......

TOP TEN FAV SONGS!!!!

I would just like to say that there are so many different songs that I like so I will not be able to fit all of these songs in this top ten. Let's get started!

10. I knew you were trouble - Taylor Swift

I like this song because it is modern and very different from other songs by Taylor Swift. I always liked her country songs and have taken a liking to her new, mainstream songs too!

9. Home - Gabrielle Aplin

I don't think many people would have heard this song which I think is sad as it is such a good song by a very talented artist! Gabrielle Aplin also song the Power of Love (the song used in the John Lewis snowmen advert!).

8. Kiss You - One Direction

Yes, I do like One Direction so I had to include one of their songs in this top ten countdown. I also love the music video for this song and I think it is a really catchy beat and find myself singing it alot!!

7. Fix You - Coldplay

This is quite an old song but is still one of my favourite songs ever!! Coldplay is suprisingly one of my favourite bands and I thought this song had a nice soft touch and had really meaningful lyrics.

6. Skyfall - Adele

Sadly I haven't yet seen teh movie Skyfall but loved this powerful song by the amazing Adele. I tohught the music made it really dramatic and I loved listening to it and singing along.

5. A Heart Full of Love - Amanda Seyfried, Samantha Barks and Eddie Redmayne

I know this isn't really a pop song, but I fell in love with it when I heard it in the film Les Miserables and immediatly bought it! I love the harmonies between the three singers at the end and the lyrics are truly beautiful!!

4. Jessie J - Domino

Again, this song has such a catchy beat that makes you want to get up and dance. Such a fun song to sing along to with a group of friends so I had to mention it!

3. Candy - Robbie Williams

When I first heard this song I tohught it was something Olly Murs would sing, not Robbie Williams. It is such a fun song, even if the lyrics seem totally random!! I think this song shows that Robbie Williams is still going strong in the music industry.

2. Impossible - James Arthur

I had to include this song as I absolutly love it!! I know some people who don't like this song and that is fair enough but I was right behind James from the beginning of the X Factor and thought his winner's single was amazing!!

And finally...... Drum roll please......My favourite song is......

1. Clown - Emeli Sande

This song is so beautiful as is the rest of her album and shows how amazing her voice is. She shows so much emotion through her lyrics and I believe this song is truly number one!!!!

So thanks for reading my top ten songs and tune in tomorrow for another top ten post!!!

Thanks,

Simple anti-blemish moisuriser!

Hey guys,

Today I am going to be doing a review on the spotless skin anti-blemish moisturiser from Simple.
I has four main spot fighting ingredients which include Zinc and Chamomile.
Those four lovely ingredients are:
Zinc
Chamomile
Corn starch
and Aloe Vera.

It doesn't contain any perfume or added colour and works a treat on your skin! I really like this moisturiser because I have never had a spot on my skin since buying it 2 months ago.

See you next time my lovelies!

My makeup must-haves!!

After posting about my obsession with eye shadow I decided to compile all my absolute makeup favourites. So, I am going to split this post into 3 sections, face, eyes and lips. Onto our first section.... Face!!

Face

By 'face' I mean foundation, concealer and all the stuff you put on before applying proper makeup.

I have only ever used one type of foundation and that is because I think it does it's job really well and blends in with almost every skin tone. The foundation is by a company called Clarins and is called Naturel Ultra-Mat. I can't get a picture of it but it comes in a little see through bottle wtih a white lid with a gold frame.

My second favourite face product has to be Maybelline Dream BB Cream because it comes in loads of different colours so there is a cream for every one! Also the little bottles are light so they are easy to take with me when I go out and fit into purses and pockets.

Eyes

As you know my favourite makeup thing in the world is eye shadow. When you put mascara and eye shadow on together they form a makeup dream team! So, my favourite eye makeup thing has to be the Colour Workshop Eye Shadow Pallette that I talked about in my blog all about my crazy obsession with eye shadow.
My second favourite eye makeup thing is my mascara. Now I have a greeny coloured mascara from MUA which is amazing and just a normal black mascara which I got from boots and that is really good too!

Lips

We are now moving on to our final section... lips! When it comes to lip products  I don't use that maany, but I do still have some cool products to tell you about. The first is a a company called Ruby and they sell the best lip gloss ever!! I got a whole set of lip glosses from them for christmas and I was suprised at how many different shades there were!! I 100% recommend them as they are really pretty and come in so many different colours. The second brand I would like to tell you about is MUA. I have mentiioned some of their eye products but they also sell really cute lipsticks. For example they have a really bright pink lipstick that lasts for ever and is really easy to put on and take off.

So those were some of my favourite makeup bits and bobs and I hope you go out and buy some of them because they are all amazing!

See you next time,

Sophie Xxx

Saturday, 2 February 2013

Hiya guys!!

So today I just wanted to talk about a couple of random things that have come up these last few weeks. I also need to apoligise for not uploading a post in ages!!! The first topic on my agenda my room. Lately I have been in my bed looking around my room and realised it is soooooo messy! So I decided to go onto YouTube and try and find some DIY jewelerry and makeup organiser things that I could make to try and make my room slightly tidier. i found this really awesome tutorial on how to make this vanity cupcake stand thing to hold your jewellery and stuff by a YouTube user called beautysplurge (be sure to check her out)! I loved it and made my own which was really easy and fun.

The second thing on my agenda is my hair. I had my hair cut into a bob in about september and now it is about down to my shoulders. I have fallen in love with plaiting and doing peoples hair and I started to think of ways to make my hair nicer. I have very straight hair so it tends to look a bit lifeless and dull if I don't wash it every two days. I watched a video by Cute Girls Hairstyles on how to do Bantu Knots on your hair which are a form of no heat curls. I tried it and loads of my friends said I looked nice and so I have kind of been doing that ever since. I want to carry on growing my hair so I can plait and braid it and curl as I wish!

So that was  a little blog on some things that have come up this week and I promise that I will try to keep you more up to date and write mre often!

See you guys!!

7/1/13

Sorry that I haven't done a post in a while, I have been busy getting ready to go back to school (nooooo!!). I haven't done anything really exciting over the couple of days so I thought I would write a post about what I did today.

I go to a drama school called Jackie Palmers and today at 7:30pm they were holding auditions for their new choir. I love to sing so I thought that I would go for it and see whether I would get in. The first issue was choosing a song to sing, and I chose There Are Worse Things I Could Do from Grease. The next issue was what to wear. At that moment I was wearing a tracksuit top with jeans. I thought that they would not take me seriously if I walked in there looking like I have just been lazing around all day so I decided I would change into something that was slightly nicer. In the end I went for a *nicer* pair of jeans, a white vest top and a new blue top I had bought from new look. I then put on just a bit of mascara and natural eye shadow and was ready to go. When I arrived I suddenly noticed that almost everyone was older than me and absolutly amazing singers.
I was terrified!

After a while I found someone from my class at Jackie Palmers and she was as scared about it as I was. Once I had finished singing I was still scared because we had to wait to hear who had got in. Now, because I was auditioning to get in next year, because I am a bit too young, I thought I had an okay chance of getting in. They had called almost everybody's name and finally called me and told me that I had got in and would be able to straight away next year when I would be old enough!

I was so excited and I can't wait to tell everyone at school tomorrow.

Sorry that this post had almost nothing to do with beauty but I thought I would just keep you up to date with what I have been doing.

Write again soon,

Sophie Xxx

Eye Shadow, Eye Shadow... and MORE EYE SHADOW!!

Hi!

Okay, when it comes to make up I am a complete sucker for every single kind and colour of eye shadow out there! I am completly in love with it and as soon as I walk into Boots or Claires Accesories I have to buy some! I guess I could call myself the keeper of the eye shadows!

For Christmas one of my really good friends bought me and eye shadow palatte and of course I fell in love with it immedietly!

I have been using it a lot and I think that my favourite colours to use are either neutral or blues and purples together.
However your eyes can never look complete withot some good old mascara. Mascara and eye shadow together form a sort of A Team and even if that is the only makeup you have put on that day, you can still look great.

My favourite kind of mascara is probably any king by MUA (make up academy) because I have a black coloured mascara from them for years and it still isn't dried out and I continue to use it.

A tip that I picked up from the good friend who gave me this eye shadow (she is also a queen of eye shadow) is that before you put any eye shadow on your eyelids, put on a little bit of concealer. She said that this helped give the eyelids a very well-rounded look without making them look really over the top.

I hope you enjoyed reading this blog and I will write again soon. Remember to follow me and comment on my blogs of your own tips and tricks to getting the perfect eye makeup.

Thanks!

Questions about me

Hi again!

1. Do you have any siblings?
Yes I do, I have an older brother and a very cute little sister!!
